Welcome to Our Church
St. Gregorios Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church in London(Ontario), began as a humble prayer group in 2014 and, through God’s grace, blossomed into a full congregation in 2015. Guided by the leadership of Fr. Abey Mathew and strengthened by the wholehearted support of families from London and the surrounding communities, the parish continues to grow in faith, fellowship and service. St. Gregorios Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church is a part of the universal Syriac Orthodox Church with the Patriarch of Antioch, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem IInd as its supreme head. The local head of the church in Malankara is the Catholicose of India, Mar Gregorios Joseph who was officially installed in Lebanon on March 25,2025 and is now known as Baselios Joseph. His Beatitude Aboon Mor Baselios Joseph, and governed by the North American Diocese Bishop His Grace Yeldho Mor Theethose, ordained by and accountable to the Patriarch of Antioch. Our Parish is instituted in the sacred name of Mar Gregorios of Parumala, who became the first declared saint from Malankara, naturally to be called “Parumala Thirumeni”.

The mission of our church is to promote the faith to our coming generation and to preserve, practice and proclaim the Orthodox Christian faith in order to glorify God.
